Mt. 387 Batong Amat Caranglan Nueva Ecija: Bohol of the North

Mountaineering
Mt. 387 also known as  Batong Amat is among the best hiking destinations in Nueva Ecija. Featuring a view of the Caraballo Mountain range, the surrounding communities and a multitude of small hills covered with trees and "kugon" grass, it is considered to be the Bohol of the North

Together with the Nueva Ecija Backpackers and Mountaineers Community (NEBMC), we had the opportunity climb Mt. 387 and at the same time conduct a tree planting activity as well as a clean-up drive for the Aloha Falls located within the same Barangay. Upon approcahing close to the summit, we also released a serpent eagle captured by locals which we named as "Malaya".

(All visitors of the mountain are encouraged to conduct a tree planting or a clean up drive to help in the preservation of the beauty of the mountain.)

We started the trek by around 7:30 in the morning and was able to descend by around noontime. Usually, the trek can be completed in 3 hours but it took us longer because of the other activities we did along the way.

We  are blessed enough as a generation that this kind of wonder is available for us to enjoy. But if we don’t do something to preserve it, we are depriving the future generation of the opportunity to at least experience the enjoyment we are having right now. We can only assure that this kind of nature’s wonder will stay if we commit to preserve it even in our own simple ways.

The NEBMC understand that our efforts alone will not be enough that is why we encourage you to join us as we explore and enjoy the beauty of mother nature while at the same time contributing to its preservation and protection. There are so much more things we can do together.  Check out the Nueva Ecija Backpackers and Mountaineers Community (NEBMC) Facebook page to know more about us.
