destination for both beginners and seasoned mountaineers.
If you are planning for your next trek, here are the top 5 hiking destinations you should absolutely consider. Be prepared to witness the beauty
and wonder of Nueva Ecija.
Considered as the “Bohol of the North”, Mt. 387 Batong Amat
is located within the Caraballo Mountain range. It has an elevation of 724
meters above see level. This minor climb usually takes around 3 hours to
summit. If you want to level up your Mt.
387 experience, a traverse route is also established which leads to Aloha falls and then back to the jump off point.

For the seasoned climbers, Mt. Kemalugong is perfect option.
It is the highest point of Nueva Ecija with an elevation of 1750 meters above sea
level. This mountain is not open to public yet but is being prepared for
tourism purposes. The trail going to Paasa Peak is an exhausting and a challenging one,
but the beauty of the view will make everything worth it!

This mountain features a view of the Sierra Madre mountain range
and the river network surrounding the area. It has an elevation of 594 meters
above sea level which is perfect for adventurers looking for a chill climb.
The name “Mt. Sawi” was derived from a local story about a person who committed
suicide at a balite tree near the summit. Along the trail, there is a cave called "Simbahang Bato" which is considered by locals as sacred.

This mountain is a reforestation site located just near the
Pantabangan Lake. It was recently opened to public by the local government in
the purpose of promoting the preservation of the mountain and the surrounding areas.
There is “1 Hiker 1 Tree” policy in this mountain . Mt. Kaanducian is 430+ meters
above sea level and takes about 2-3 hours to summit. Visitors will also get to
experience a boat ride across the Pantabangan lake going to the entry point.

With an elevation of 350 meters above sea level, Mt. Mapait
is another Minor Climb that features a boat ride and a view of the Aulo lake. Although
the name sounds interesting, there is no known story behind the name of this
mountain yet. Since Mt. Mapait can be climbed within hours, some climbers opt for
multi mountain hikes within the same day. Overnight stay at the summit is also allowed.
