it would be great to have a spare 2G phone with you all the times. 2G
phones have better signal reception and
longer lasting batteries. Most of the smartphones today are excellent with 3G/4G
signals but too poor in 2G signal
reception and also gets drained easily. Remember that 2G signals are available even in
more areas even in mountainous terrains. On the other hand, 3G and 4G signals are
available in cities and highly populated communities only. So, if you are going
for a hike, camping, beach or island hoping, you will most probably have 2G
signal but not 3G or 4G.
2. Offline Maps App
Offline maps
are handy when travelling. You will not get internet connection at all times. So, the best tool that will
help you navigate is a map that can operate offline. These apps allow you to
download the map of your preferred country or city into your device so you can
access it anytime without internet.
3. A book
When
travelling, there will be many times you will be sitting on a bus or waiting on
a queue. It would be better if you can make yourself busy in these moments.
Also, if you are sitting somewhere else calm and breezy, it would be a wonderful
time to read any book of your interest.
4. A good camera with memory backup
Of course,
you don’t want to miss any special moment that comes during the adventure. So,
make sure your camera is good and your digital memory is enough to store every
photo or video you collect.
5. Notebook and pen
There are
feelings, emotions and events while you travel that you want to remember.
Relying on your memory alone is not going to work since you might forget them
after some time. A quick note using a pen and paper will help you preserve all those
memories much longer.
6. Battery back up
A spare
battery or a power bank can do. Considering the battery life of smartphones
nowadays, it is always recommended to bring a backup to ensure continuous communication
and picture taking.
7. Identification cards
At least 2
identification cards will be great! People are more comfortable to deal with
someone they can identify. ID cards do help a lot for your safety no matter
where you go.
8. Hygiene kit
Traveling
becomes much more fun if you feel good and comfortable. Be sure to put this kit
inside your bag before leaving the house.
9. A water proof jacket
The uses for
a jacket could be plenty if you are creative enough. In unexpected scenarios,
it can be a rain cover, a mini blanket, a pillow, shade from the sun and many
more.
10. Durable bag
A durable
bag will enable you to bring anything you want without worrying it will give up
later. It will also lessen any possibility of being robbed or losing your
things. Of course you don’t want to be in a situation where you need to look
for a replacement for your bag while traveling since shops might not be accessible
all the time.
